The Master of the Dominican Order is Coming to Dublin!

Br Gerard Timoner III OP
Br Gerard Timoner III OP

Fr Gerard Timoner OP, Master of the Order of Preachers, will make his way to Dublin to open celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the arrival of Dominican friars in Ireland.

On Sunday 11 February, at 11am, he will celebrate Mass in St Saviour’s Church, Dublin, with representatives of the Dominican family from around Ireland and beyond. All are welcome to attend.

Elected as the 87th successor of St Dominic in 2019, Fr Timoner hails from the Philippines. This will be his first visit to Ireland as Master, but he counts, of course, two Irishmen among his predecessors: Damian Byrne OP (d. 1996) and Michael Browne OP (d. 1971).
