Solemn Vespers – 800th Jubilee

To specifically mark the 800th anniversary of the Dominican Order, which got its appoval from Pope Honorious III on the 22nd of December 1216, various Dominican communities had special celebrations.

In St. Saviour’s in Dublin a special Holy Hour with Benediction was held in the evening, and Solemn Vespers was celebrated at 6pm. The included video shows a brief summary of the celebration.

Dominican Salve Regina and O Lumen Ecclesiae

This is a recording of the Salve procession after First Vespers of a Sunday in St. Mary’s Church, Pope’s Quay, Cork, Ireland. This is the Dominican version of the Salve Regina, which is followed by the O Lumen Ecclesiae (O Light of the Church) which is the Magnificat Antiphon of the Feast of Saint Dominic.
