St Dominic’s priory
St Dominic’s priory, Ennismore, was founded as a centre for spiritual retreats, and it continues this work, maintaining a strong emphasis on retreats for young people.
The retreat centre is busy all year round, and while the community of friars is primarily concerned with this ministry, each Dominican assigned there is also engaged in other apostolic activities.
These include the teaching of courses in sacred scripture, supplying as chaplains to Catholic organisations, youth ministry and assisting in a mission of the Irish Dominican province in Iran.
St Dominic’s, Ennismore, continues to be a great resource to the needs of the local church in the Cork region – situated as it is in a beautiful location in the outskirts of Cork city.
